From Small Beginnings

"The Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed planted in a field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of garden plants; it grows into a tree, and birds come and make nests in its branches." (Matthew 13:31-32)

Stories have been a significant part of my life for as long as I can remember. From the time I learned to read, I fell in love with the symphony of words on a page and the worlds that became real to me. I became fascinated by the vivid pictures painted by words of black and white; and they way they could make me laugh, cry, and read for hours past my bedtime. Reading to me was like going on a new adventure, both magical and terrifying—like the moment Lucy first stepped through the wardrobe in Narnia, or when Frodo took up the quest to destroy the Ring. It wasn’t long before I started penning stories myself, and “publishing” them via staples, tape, and printer paper. I wrote because I couldn’t possibly keep the worlds and characters trapped in my imagination. So I set them free on paper. I kept writing. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve held onto the dream of being an author one day, and even now, I still have that dream. I want my words to inspire others and be a light in the darkness. Though my stories are small seeds, I believe that God can use them to grow something beautiful. It’s my mission to provide literature that will keep you on the edge of your seat and point you to the Master Storyteller who is still orchestrating all our stories today.
